Dry ridge / dry verge systems offer a low-maintenance, more secure roof than traditional mortar cement. Adverse weather and natural movement of your property will cause mortar holding your ridge tiles in place to crack and deteriorate over time leading to roof tiles becoming loose. Ideally, your ridge tiles should be re-cemented every 10 years or so. The dry ridge system however, ensures that the ridge tiles are firmly fixed in place and need no maintenance for 50 years or more. Together with dry verge capping around the sides of a roof, the system makes the roof more secure against storm damage.
